Welcome to JamesLocost.com, the website of James Hughes and his Locost exploits.
As you can see from the top of the page, I have started racing a Locost (from late 2004) in the 750 Motor Club race series under the GWA Motorsport banner (For Ginger with Attitude – thanks to my Brother for the name!). However, I have been involved with Locost for considerably longer than that.
I started building a completely home grown Locost over 5 years ago, actually its probably 6 now. Wanting a bit of a challenge after making a Westfield in the very dim and distant past, I decided to do it the hard way and constructed the chassis myself, teaching myself to weld on the way. This welding ‘skill’ has proved to be very useful in repairing the race car after a particularly unpleasant shunt at Mallory Park at the end of the 2004 season.
Anyway, I digress. This website is here to document both my nascent racing career, and the build of the road car, so please try the buttons at the top of the page to have a look around. If you want to return to this home page, click on the big 55 in the top left hand corner (It's my current race number, or is that obvious?)
